"Legendary Actresses from the Golden Age of Hollywood" Playing at the Nutley Library

The Nutley Public Library, at 93 Booth Drive, is offering free screenings of classic films featuring Legendary Actresses from the Golden Age of Hollywood, during the month of March. No registration is required, and light refreshments will be served.

The library website, http://nutley.bccls.org, lists the following schedule:

March 9:  RED HEADED WOMAN PG-13, 79 min   Jean Harlow is the “Red Headed Woman” who stops at nothing on her ascent up the social ladder in this daring-for-its-time 1932 movie shot prior to the Hays Code censorship restraints placed on American filmmaking.

March 16: SORRY, WRONG NUMBER NR, 89 min  A classic film noir with a bravura performance by Barbara Stanwyck as an invalid who overhears a murder being planned.

March 23: THE WOMEN NR, 133 min  Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford and Rosalind Russell are among the 130+ female stars – and no men – in 1939s “The Women,” a film about divorce, cattiness, and competition among a coterie of high society women.

March 30: ALL ABOUT EVE PG, 138 min  Bette Davis stars an aging actress undercut by a ruthless young woman (played by Anne Baxter) intent on stardom regardless of the human cost along the way.
