Lockdown Lifted At Middle School In Belleville; All Students Safe
Belleville Middle School was temporarily locked down due to a police investigation, authorities said.

BELLEVILLE, NJ -- A school in Belleville was temporarily locked down Thursday due to a police investigation, authorities said.
"Belleville Middle School was placed in a lockdown today as a precautionary measure for a police involved event," School Superintendent Richard Tomko posted on social media.
The lockdown was lifted soon afterwards. All students are safe, and classes have resumed, Tomko said.

Police recovered a BB gun from a student's backpack. The student has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, RLS Media reported.
