Man Almost Carjacked In Belleville On Valley Street: Police
The victim told Belleville police that he left his car running prior to the alleged carjacking attempt, authorities say.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — A vehicle owner reported that he was almost carjacked earlier this month, Belleville police say.
According to the Belleville Police Department, the male victim said that he had left his car running in front of a Valley Street building, when he observed a grey Audi Q7 park directly in front of his vehicle. The victim told police that a male then exited the passenger side of the Audi and entered his car.
The victim then ran back to his car and opened the driver’s side door and shut off the ignition, he told police. At that time, the man fled the car and got back in his own vehicle, fleeing west on Holmes Street, police said.
