Man Dead, Child Wounded In Belleville Shooting: Essex Prosecutors
No arrests have been made as of Saturday evening, prosecutors said.
BELLEVILLE, NJ -- A fatal shooting took place in Belleville on Saturday, which left a man dead and a young child in the hospital, authorities said.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Belleville police responded to the 100-block of Mill Street around 2 p.m. after getting a report about a shooting.
The officers found Francis Medina, 37, of Belleville, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Clara Maass Medical Center and pronounced dead at 3:17 p.m.

The shooting also left a 4-year-old boy with injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition as of Saturday evening, authorities said.
No arrests have been made, prosecutors said.
