Details, Fatal Victim ID'd After Man Shot In Head In Newark Parking Lot Next To Gym
A man died after he was shot in the head in a parking lot in New Jersey early Friday.
A man was killed when he was shot in the head in a parking lot next to a gym in New Jersey Friday.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., William Porter, 23, of Newark was shot in the vicinity of 18 Oliver St. in the city. He was pronounced dead at University Hospital at 5:46 a.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been identified.

A van near the shooting site was found riddled with bullets, according to News12. No one has been identified in the shooting.

Police interviewed a large number of witnesses who appeared to have left The Blvd club across the street from the Mulberry Street parking lot in Newark just before the shooting, according to the report.
