Man Walking Dog Punches Elderly Nutley Resident After Dispute: Police

NPD: When a 77-year-old man saw another man walk a dog across his lawn, he started to film him. And that's when the violence happened.

NUTLEY, NJ — A man walking his dog allegedly punched an elderly Nutley resident in the face after an argument last week, authorities announced Friday.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the dispute took place Sept. 29 on Princeton Avenue between a man walking his dog and a 77-year-old resident of the block.

When the elderly man saw the man walk his dog across his lawn, he started to film him. And that’s when the violence took place, police said.

After exchanging some heated words, the man with the dog allegedly grabbed the other man by the throat and punched him in the face, authorities said.

Police said the assailant was described as a middle-aged white male with glasses and a beard who is partially balding. He was wearing a dark, zip-up jacket and black shorts with a stripe.

The dog was described as large and black, police added.
