The 2011-2012 Belleville High School Marching Band is off to a fine start this season.
They have won first place at Verona and North Brunswick and took first place at the Yamaha Cup at Giants Stadium for Group IIA. The title of this year's show is Cirque-du Soleil.
Drum majors are seniors Ana Villaruel and Rahniel Simon. Included in the BHS Marching Band are 12 Belleville Middle Schools musicians - Vincent Abanilla, Maylied Hidalgo, Thomas Cruz, Xavier Bonilla, Alyssa Reddie, Omar Cubas, Jorge Rivera, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Ana Mejia, and Anel Zilkic.
The director is Anthony Gotto, Assistant Director is Amanda Mullany, and instructors are Jeffrey Vicente and Shannon Burton.
The group has three remaining competitions including States and Nationals.
