NUTLEY, NJ — A 12-year-old boy escaped injury after a Mercedes Benz allegedly hit him and knocked him off his bicycle on River Road in Nutley last week, police say.
According to the Nutley Police Department, the boy told officers that he was riding his bike on River Road on July 10, when the driver of a grey Mercedes Benz stopped the car and waved for him and his friends to pass by.
The boy told officers that when he proceeded to go past, the car struck the wheel of his bicycle and he fell to the ground. When the group of boys attempted to photograph the vehicle’s license plate, the driver allegedly got out and tried to block the plate, which appeared to be a New York registration, police said.
