Did Man Commit Suicide in Belleville?
Essex County Prosecutor's Office waits for autopsy results looking into man's death ruled a suicide, and confirms that the man was wanted for murdering a Delaware woman Monday.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is waiting for autopsy results to decide the next step in investigating the death of a man at the Belleville Motor Lodge Tuesday afternoon.
Until an actual cause of death is known, the death of Pawan Kumar, 26, of Wilmington, Del. appears to be a suicide and is consistent with an overdose, according to Katherine Carter, spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office.
The man was wanted on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Danielle Mehlman of Bensalem, Pa., Carter said.

Kumar was pronounced dead at 1:32 p.m. at the motor lodge on Washington Avenue, Carter said.
Carter could not confirm details of where Mehlman’s body was found in Delaware on Monday.

The Belleville Motor Lodge manager did not return a call for comment Tuesday.
