NJ's 'Tan Mom' Is Reportedly Sick And 'Fighting For Her Life'
Two reports offered a bleak assessment of the New Jersey woman who became known as the "Tan Mom" while another offered hope.

The New Jersey woman known as “Tan Mom,” Patricia Krentcil, is reportedly sick and "fighting for her life" in an intensive care unit.
Adam Barta, her music producer, said on Twitter that Krentcil is recovering in a Florida hospital and that "I fully expect her to be on the phone with Howard (Stern) in a week or two reliving this ordeal."
Please say another prayer for our lady @krentcilp5. She’s in ICU and needs our love

A Yahoo report, however, offered a bleaker assessment of Krentcil, who lived in Nutley before moving to Florida last year. Yahoo reported that Krentcil is currently on life support since she's been battling pneumonia, and she's been "fighting for her life."

The New York Daily News and US Weekly, quoting Barta, said Krentcil was placed in a medically induced sleep until her heart are lungs are strong enough to handle functioning on their own.
“They are feeding her very strong antibiotics to kill the infection as well so her system is taking quite a hit,” Barta was quoted as saying in the reports. “I personally believe (over the weekend) was the most critical turning point, and she made it, so she will only continue to get better. The current plan (was) to try to extubate and revive her (Monday) or Tuesday, provided she maintains this trajectory.”

Krentcil first made news in 2012 when she was accused of endangering her then-5-year-old child by bringing her along to mother-daughter tanning salon sessions.
Since then, she's made a number of talk show appearances with Dr. Drew and Howard Stern. There was also a clothed, 2013 adult film appearance in “Kings of New York 2," as well as her hip-hop single that dropped the same year, “It’s Tan Mom.”
An Essex County grand jury declined to indict Krentcil on child endangerment charges in 2013.
The case started in April 17, 2012, when school officials noticed burns on the young girl’s leg and reported the injuries to authorities. Following an investigation, Krentcil was arrested on April 24, 2012.
Under New Jersey law, children under 14 years old are banned from using tanning salons.

According to NBC, the father said it was a misunderstanding. Krentcil's daughter told her classmates she goes tanning with her mom. He thinks a teacher overheard, connecting the daughter's sunburn and called the police.
