On Friday, June 26, at 8 p.m., Nutley Little Theatre will present a live reading via Facebook Live and YouTube of the outrageous comedy “Vampire Lesbians of Sodom” by Charles Busch.

Take two immortal vampire lesbians locked in eternal, yet comical, battle royal. Mix campy, old Hollywood sensibility with satirical tone and you get a show filled with outrageous lines, harmless depravity and loads of laughs. “Vampire Lesbians of Sodom” is directed by and stars George Seylaz of Belleville, who also helmed NLT’s sell-out run of Busch's “The Divine Sister” last season. The show also stars Debra Carozza, Shane Long, Sean Lough, Nick Pascarella, Franco Pedicini and Gina Sarno

During COVID-19 pandemic, Nutley Little Theatre closed its doors for the first time in its 86+ years of presenting high quality theatrical productions to the Northern New Jersey community. “But you can’t stop theatre people from performing!” says Pascarella of Hohokus, who also serves as the theatre’s Board President. “We are excited to offer our audiences an innovative way to enjoy this classic cult comedy from the comfort of their own homes.”

Because NLT was obliged to cancel several shows earlier in the season, this reading is being held as a fund raiser. “We are hoping to reopen for live theater performances as soon as the government says that it is safe again,” says Pascarella. “Meanwhile, we hope our friends will support our efforts to maintain our historic theatre, plan for the upcoming season, and keep finding new ways to offer great entertainment both online and on the stage.”

Donations can be made through PayPal, GoFundMe at https://www.gofundme.com/f/nutley-little-theatre-needs-you, and Venmo, and viewers of “Vampires” will be also provided an online ink to contribute to the theatre.
