Nutley Bans Any New Smoke, Vape Shops From Opening In Town

The local ordinance doesn't affect existing vape/smoke shops in Nutley.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley has banned any new smoke and vape shops from opening in the township.

During their meeting on May 16, the Nutley Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve Ordinance 3514, which revises the municipal zoning code. The ordinance was first introduced in April.

A public hearing was held before the board’s vote; no members of the public spoke (watch the video below, which is cued to the hearing).

According to Commissioner Thomas Evans, the ordinance will prohibit any additional smoke shops and vape shops in Nutley. It doesn’t affect existing shops, which are grandfathered in.
