Nutley-Based Conservative Group Protests Facebook Ban

The leader of a conservative group in NJ says Facebook disabled their page, which has supported Trump in his claims about election fraud.

NUTLEY, NJ — The leader of a conservative Republican group based in Nutley says that Facebook temporarily put the chill on the organization’s livestream broadcasts.

According to a Friday email from Steven Rogers, the public profile for Campaign4America was disabled by Facebook because it didn't follow the social media giant's "community standards."

The page, which has frequently supported former president Donald Trump and his controversial claims of election fraud, hadn’t made any posts for days since Jan. 21.

Facebook has since reinstated the page, Rogers told Patch on Monday evening.

Rogers, a former Nutley township commissioner and member of the Donald J. Trump 2020 Campaign Advisory Board, said that the group’s livestream broadcasts were averaging between 30,000 and 35,000 views apiece before the forced hiatus.

“Unfortunately, it appears that because of our conservative views, Facebook has disabled our live streaming broadcasts,” Rogers wrote. “It’s their company and although their action is morally wrong, they have that right.”

“It goes without saying, our nation is going down a very dangerous road,” he added. “However, we must not surrender and continue to work hard to get conservatives elected to office and protect our constitutional rights.”

Campaign4America is currently searching for a new platform to broadcast its videos, Rogers said.

Rogers helms the group, which counts former U.S. Senate candidate Tricia Flanagan as one of its vice presidents and bills itself as a movement that "supports the Judeo-Christian values America was founded upon." The group also says it "advances conservative values" and "vigorously opposes the socialist/communist movement."

Some policies the group supports includes George Bush's "Thousand Points of Light" agenda, and Trump's "America First" deal.
