Nutley And Belleville Police Team Up, Arrest Suspected Car Thief
Cooperation between Nutley and Belleville police resulted in the arrest of a suspected car thief and burglar, authorities said.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Cooperation between Nutley and Belleville police resulted in the arrest of a suspected car thief and burglar, authorities announced Friday.
According to the Nutley Police Department, officers arrested Robert Rasczyk, 34, of East Orange, after identifying him as the man who stole a car from Nutley and committed a burglary on July 12.
After Rasczyk allegedly used a stolen credit card at a Belleville convenience store, police cooperated in an investigation with their Nutley peers, eventually learning that Rasczyk was living in a motor home in Belleville.

When police responded to Rasczyk’s home he fled the scene on foot, leaving items behind that were allegedly taken from multiple Nutley and Belleville residents. With assistance from the FBI and Belleville police, Nutley officers apprehended Rasczyk in the City of Newark, authorities stated.
On July 17, Nutley police charged Rasczyk with two counts of burglary, two counts of receiving stolen property and aggravated assault on an officer. He also faces “multiple charges” in Belleville, Nutley authorities said.
