Nutley Burglary Suspect: ‘I Thought I Was At A Garage Sale’
Nutley police say that a burglary suspect had a unique explanation after he was caught walking off with a generator.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police say that a burglary suspect had a unique explanation after he was caught walking off with a generator: he thought that he was at a garage sale.
According to the Nutley Police Department, officers responded to a North Road home last month after receiving a report about a burglary in progress. On arrival, the resident told officers that they just had a suspicious encounter with a man whom they allegedly caught walking away with a generator that was kept outside their home.
The resident told officers that when they confronted the suspect, he told them that he thought he was at a garage sale. At that point, he put down the generator and left, police said.
