Nutley Community Event: Get Leaf Bags, Make Donation To Food Pantry

NUTLEY, NJ — The Nutley Public Works Department will hold a special “Leaf Bag Distribution Day” and food drive on Saturday, Oct. 7.

According to a news release from the township, the event will take place at the Public Works Garage, 1 Cortland Street, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Organizers said the town will provide 10 biodegradable leaf bags per household.

People can also donate to a food drive to benefit the Nutley Family Service Bureau’s food pantry at the same event. Canned goods, cereal, peanut butter, pasta and rice are all needed, organizers said.

Can’t make the Oct. 7 distribution day? Nutley residents can pick up leaf bags at the Public Works Garage on weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. starting on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Proper identification will be required, organizers said.
