Nutley Cops Help Locate 2 Missing People In 1 Week

One incident involved an elderly woman found driving in the township. Another involved a teen who was reported missing, Nutley police said.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police helped to resolve two missing persons cases last week, authorities announced Monday.

The Nutley Police Department released the following statements about each incident.

May 31 – “During routine patrol, an officer observed a vehicle traveling under the posted speed limit and the driver appeared confused. After performing a motor vehicle stop it was determined that the driver had been entered as a missing person in another New Jersey jurisdiction. The elderly person medically evaluated and was transported to [police headquarters], where her care was transferred to her son.”

June 1 – “Police responded to a residence reporting their 16-year-old daughter missing. The juvenile was last seen 10:09 p.m. on May 31. After police took the initial report, they launched an investigation and quickly located the 16-year-old with a friend unharmed in Rahway.”
