Nutley Cops Investigate ‘Sexually Explicit Messages,’ Other Mischief
Nutley police are investigating several instances of criminal mischief, including "sexually explicit messages" in a municipal parking lot.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police are investigating several instances of criminal mischief that took place on the same day earlier this month, including one incident of “sexually explicit messages” written on concrete light bases in a municipal parking lot.
According to the Nutley Police Department, the following incidents took place in the township on Oct. 7:
Municipal Lot #1 (William Street and Franklin Avenue) – Police are investigating multiple sexually explicit messages written in black permanent ink on the concrete light bases. It is unknown who wrote them or how long the messages were written on the cement. Contact was made to the Department of Public Works who were already made aware of the graffiti. Photos were taken and placed into evidence.

Centre Street – Headquarters received a report regarding two signs that were hanging in front of the victim’s home that were painted over in brown paint with a roller. Prior to this incident, there was some illegible graffiti painted in gold paint on the one sign. Photos of both signs were entered into evidence.
Alexander Avenue – Officers were dispatched to the area in regards to a criminal mischief complaint. Observed was a white, glue and sticky substance that was inserted inside the front and rear door lock holes. The victim was able to insert their key into both doors and remove the substance and had access to their building. It appears the substance may have been glue. There were no other reports of damage.
