Nutley Cops Issue Alert After Multiple Car Thefts Hit Township
Police: "Over the past several weeks, Nutley and surrounding jurisdictions have experienced an increase in vehicle thefts."
NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police issued a public safety advisory on Friday after “multiple motor vehicle thefts” and several attempted thefts took place on Roosevelt, Dodd, Franklin, Ernest and Park Avenue.
The Nutley Police Department stated:
“Over the past several weeks, Nutley and surrounding jurisdictions have experienced an increase in vehicle thefts. ALL vehicles were unlocked and either running or had key fob left inside. Residents are reminded that criminals look for unlocked vehicles, to steal valuables left inside; if the vehicle starts, or is left running they will take it as well. This is most commonly observed at local coffee shops, and convenience stores. The Nutley Police Department requests that anyone that observes suspicious activity, are urged to contact them at 973-284-4940 or 911. Additionally anyone that has a home or business surveillance system are asked to voluntarily register by e-mailing location and contact information to NutleyDetectives@NutleyPD.com.”
