Nutley Dog Bites Infant, 70 Stitches Needed: Police
The 11-month-old infant underwent three days of plastic surgery after the incident, Nutley police say.

Nutley, NJ – A local infant needed more than 70 stitches after suffering a dog bite on Walnut Street last month, Nutley police said.
According to the Nutley Police Department, the canine ran out of a home in the area on March 25 and bit the 11-month-old child on the right leg as it was being pushed in a stroller.
The infant was taken to the hospital and underwent three days of plastic surgery, police stated.

Authorities ordered the dog to be quarantined for 10 days, police said.
In addition, the Nutley Health Department was advised of the incident, and the dog’s owner was issued township ordinance violations for Licensing of Newly Acquired Dogs, Running at Large Prohibited and Vicious Dog, police stated.

The dog’s owner will have a mandatory court appearance, police added.
