Nutley Driver Injures Belleville Man In ‘Serious’ Car Crash On Christmas Eve: Police

A Nutley man crashed his pickup truck into a parked car just as the Belleville resident was getting out of the door, police say.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police have charged a local man with DUI after he allegedly crashed his truck into the rear of a parked car on Christmas Eve, “seriously injuring” a 20-year-old Belleville man, authorities say.

According to the Nutley Police Department, officers responded to a “serious motor vehicle crash” on Centre Street on Dec. 24 involving a white pickup truck which had crashed into the rear of a parked car just as the victim was getting out of the door.

The injured man – a 20-year-old Belleville resident – sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital in Newark and listed in stable condition, police stated.

Police arrested the driver of the pickup truck, Frank Grossi, 20, of Nutley, and charged him with DUI.
