Nutley Dunkin’ Donuts Robbed At Gunpoint: Police

A pair of masked men burst into a Nutley Dunkin' Donuts, grabbed cash from the registers and fled, police say.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police are searching for a pair of men who allegedly robbed a local Dunkin’ Donuts at gunpoint on Monday night.

According to the Nutley Police Department, officers responded to the Dunkin’ Donuts at Park Avenue and River Road after receiving a report of a robbery. On arrival, the officers spoke with the “visibly shaken” store employees, who told them that two masked men – one armed with a handgun - burst into the eatery, ordered a customer to stand in the corner and cleared the cash registers.

The two men then fled the scene on foot south on River Road, the employees told police.

None of the employees suffered injury during the robbery, police said.

The employees described the first suspect as a black male wearing a black wool cap, and the second suspect as a “slightly-taller” black male wearing a brown leather jacket with hoodie and blue jeans, police said.

Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco said the employees complied as they should have during the incident.

Police Chief Thomas Strumolo said that “armed robberies are rare in Nutley, and are taken very seriously.”
