NUTLEY, NJ — When it comes to documenting the history and culture of the Belleville-Nutley area, locals are lucky that they have Anthony Buccino.
When Patch recently asked our readers for stories about hometown heroes, Pennie Landry, co-founder of the Nutley Homeowners Community Facebook page, was quick to name Buccino.
The Nutley resident and Belleville native keeps the history of both communities alive on social media and in books he authors, Landry wrote.

“Anthony is an unsung history hero,” she stated.
According to his online biography, Buccino has published 19 books, including five essay collections, three local military history books and seven full-length poetry collections.

He’s written several articles for Patch.com, including 'Don the TV Man… In Old Belleville,” which won a 2nd place prize in the 2011 Society of Professional Journalists – New Jersey Excellence in Journalism Awards contest.
