Nutley police are investigating a possible incident of criminal mischief that caused more than $2,000 of damage to Owens Field.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police are investigating a possible incident of criminal mischief that caused more than $2,000 of damage to Owens Field.
According to the Nutley Police Department, officers responded to Owens Field on July 11 on a report of damage to township property. After meeting with municipal parks department officials, police found that the field sustained more than $2,000 of damage.
Police said that the damage may have been caused by juveniles who lit fireworks on the turf.

Authorities are investigating the incident, which was reportedly captured on a surveillance video, police said.
