Nutley Library Lending Free Mobile WiFi Hotspots To Patrons
Nutley Public Library: Offering free hotspots is a growing trend across the U.S.
NUTLEY, NJ — Things are getting hot at the Nutley Public Library.
On Tuesday, the library announced that it’s now loaning free mobile WiFi hotspot kits (hotspots) to Nutley township resident card holders.
The hotspots will increase access to the internet and the library’s many digital resources for cardholders, the library stated in a news release.

“This is part of a growing trend happening nationally where public libraries are expanding their services and offering items beyond the traditional selection of books for borrowing. Mobile WiFi Hotspots also play a critical role in communities, often providing access for those who do not have WiFi service, further allowing patrons to access and perform critically needed web based tasks from home.”
There are five hotspots available for borrowing in Nutley. According to library staff, here’s how it works:
“After agreeing to the Mobile WiFi Hotspot Lending Program Policy and filling out a loan form, Nutley resident card holders ages eighteen and older with library cards in good standing can borrow a hotspot at the Circulation Desk. Hotspots are available on a first-come, first-served basis and the loan limit is one hotspot device per household at any given time. The lending period is 14 days and the hotspot cannot be renewed or reserved.”
The Nutley Public Library is located at 93 Booth Drive. Library hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
