Nutley Man Crashes Car Into House On Prospect Street: Police

Nutley police charged a local man with driving while intoxicated after he crashed a car into a house, authorities said.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police charged a local man with driving while intoxicated after he allegedly crashed a car into a house on Prospect Street and tried to flee the scene last week, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the crash took place on Friday, Feb. 1. Officers arrived on the scene after getting reports that a car crashed into a house and the driver was trying to leave.

Nutley police arrested the driver, Jeffrey Swan, 57, of Nutley, and transported him to headquarters. He was issued seven motor vehicle summonses, including driving while intoxicated, careless driving, failure to exhibit proof of insurance and failure to exhibit valid driver’s license.

Township officials conducted an inspection of the damage to the home and found it to be safe, police stated.
