Nutley Man Injured After Brother Chucks Phone At His Head: Police

Nutley police said one of the brothers has since left home.

NUTLEY, NJ — A Nutley man was injured after his brother threw a cell phone at his head during an argument last week, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, a Dodd Street resident went to police headquarters on Nov. 28 to report an assault. The man said he and his 30-year-old brother were in a verbal fight when his sibling threw a phone, striking him in the back of the head and causing a cut.

The victim was evaluated at the scene and transported to Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville for treatment, authorities said.

The mother of the siblings, who witnessed the incident, later confirmed the victim’s version of events, police said.

The victim’s brother has since left the home, police said. He has been charged with simple assault.
