Police arrested a Nutley man after he reportedly ripped a municipal parking meter out of the ground.

NUTLEY, NJ — Police arrested a Nutley man after he reportedly ripped a municipal parking meter out of the ground last month, authorities say.

According to the Nutley Police Department, multiple officers responded to a report of three disorderly men creating a disturbance at a Franklin Avenue business on Aug. 24. After officers arrived on the scene, the establishment’s manager said one of the men appeared to be “intoxicated” and gave police a description of their clothes.

Nutley officers then conducted a search of the area and found the described parties walking north on Franklin Avenue. As officers watched, one of the men allegedly crossed the street with “no regard to traffic and outside of marked crosswalks.”
