Nutley Neighbors Bicker Over Crash, Dog, Roller Rink: Police

Recent Nutley "disputes": crash-inspired fistfight / water spilled on a dog / roller rink argument / verbal kerfuffle at local business

NUTLEY, NJ — Arguments happen. It’s a part of life. And Nutley is no exception.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the following “disputes” recently took place in the township:

  • April 30 – “Police observed two men arguing on Rutgers Pl. and immediately interviewed. It appeared the two were arguing over water that spilled from the top of a canopy landing on the neighbor’s dog. Police were able to calm the situation and advised both parties how to sign formal complaints if they wanted to.”
  • May 5 – “Police responded to Washington and Park Ave when caller reported that there was a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, it was determined that the drivers of the two vehicles had engaged in a dispute at which time one punched the other in the face. Police advised both parties of their right to sign complaints for the assault.”
  • May 5 – “Police responded to the roller rink on Park Ave when two men entered into a dispute over who was permitted to use the rink. One person had a valid permit, issued by the parks department to which the other believed was false. Police were able to assist with settling the dispute and found the permit to be valid.”
  • May 8 – “Police responded to a Franklin Ave. business when two customers engaged in a verbal dispute. One male one female each described the other as the aggressor, police were able to intervene and advised both how to sign a complaint if they wanted to do so.”
