Nutley Pizza Oven ‘Flashes Over,’ Worker Goes To Hospital: FD
An employee at a Nutley restaurant was taken to the hospital after a non-life-threatening injury, authorities said.
NUTLEY, NJ — An employee of a Nutley restaurant was taken to the hospital after an oven-related accident on Sunday, authorities said.
A worker at Michael's Pastaria on Franklin Avenue was igniting a pilot light on a pizza oven when it “flashed over,” according to Deputy Fire Chief Paul Cafone.
Emergency responders transported the employee to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, Cafone said.

Nutley Police Det. Tony Montanari said the 21-year-old worker suffered a non-life-threatening injury when an accumulation of gas quickly ignited.
Code enforcement officers were called and the system was shut off until it can be determined if the oven needs service, Montanari said.
