Nutley Police Arrest Accused Home Burglar; Clifton Man Charged
Police arrested a suspect in connection with a home burglary that took place in Nutley, authorities said.

NUTLEY, NJ — Police arrested a suspect in connection with a home burglary that took place in Nutley last month, authorities announced Tuesday evening.
Officers with the Nutley Police Department and the United States Marshals Service have charged Julio Ponce, 42, of Clifton, in connection with a Sept. 9 burglary on Raymond Avenue, according to a joint statement from Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Police Chief Thomas Strumolo.
“I want to ensure our residents’ safety remains our number one objective,” Petracco said. “Our officers have arrested more than a dozen criminals committing burglaries since implementing special details.”

Nutley police will continue to supplement patrols “as needed,” Petracco added.
Petracco and Strumolo asked residents to “continue to be vigilant” and secure their vehicles and home. Residents should contact police if they witness any suspicious activity, authorities said.
