Nutley Police Brace For Possible Coronavirus Fraud Wave
The Nutley Police Department is bracing itself for a potential wave of fraudsters who might try to capitalize on the coronavirus crisis.
NUTLEY, NJ — The Nutley Police Department is bracing itself for a potential wave of fraudsters who might try to capitalize on the coronavirus crisis, authorities said Thursday.
The Nutley Police Department wrote:
“Police are preparing for a number of frauds that are expected to be associated with the pandemic. Whether it be phone solicitors attempting to get you to donate to a needy COVID-19 cause, or someone pretending to be from a reputable agency. Expectations are that fraudsters will attempt to get between you and a federal stimulus check. Beware of online sales of necessities, such as sprays, masks and other essential items that may be marked up, or an attempt to have you send money.”
