Nutley Police Close Library Due To Reported Threat, ‘Suspicious Incident'

Nutley police say that there was no risk to the public during the Tuesday incident.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police temporarily contained the local public library due to a “suspicious incident” on Tuesday afternoon, but there was no risk to the public, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, officers received a report about a suspicious incident involving possible threats at the Nutley Public Library around 3:30 p.m. Officers arrived on the scene soon afterwards and assessed the situation in tandem with school and library officials. The area was contained as a precaution, police said.

“There is no risk of threat to the public at this time,” police stated Tuesday.

The situation is under control and is under investigation by the Nutley Detective Bureau, authorities said.
