Nutley Police: Girl, 12, Ejected From Car During Crash On Route 21

The girl was ejected from the vehicle and a passing motorist struck her, causing serious injuries, Nutley police say.

NUTLEY, NJ — A 12-year-old girl is in critical-but-stable condition after she was ejected from a car during a crash on Route 21 in Nutley on Tuesday, authorities say.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the one-car crash took place on Route 21 South and involved a 34-year-old Elizabeth woman and her 12-year-old daughter. During the collision, the girl was ejected from the vehicle and a passing motorist struck her, causing serious injuries.

Emergency responders transported the 12-year-old and her mother to a nearby hospital. Medical personnel released the 34-year-old on Tuesday evening, but her daughter remains in “critical yet stable condition,” police said.
