Nutley Police: Nissan Goes 105 MPH In 55 Zone During Car Chase

The driver of a Nissan led Nutley cops on a high-speed vehicle chase, reaching 105 mph during the "reckless" encounter, police said.

NUTLEY, NJ — The driver of a Nissan 350 led Nutley police on a high-speed vehicle chase last week. Officers cut off their pursuit, but not before obtaining the identities of the driver and the vehicle, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the chase took place on Sept. 15 on Rt. 21. The Nissan – which was allegedly traveling up to 105 mph in a 55 mph zone – was “weaving dangerously through traffic.”

The driver of the Nissan also made several unsafe lane changes and improperly passed several vehicles, eventually eluding the pursuing officers during the “reckless” encounter, authorities said.

The officers were able to catch the vehicle registration and confirm the identification of the driver before cutting off the chase. A charge of 2nd degree eluding was placed on a warrant for the registered owner, police said.
