Nutley Police See Spike In Car Break-Ins, Landscaper Tool Thefts
Nutley police have a warning for local landscapers and vehicle owners: lock up.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley authorities are warning local residents to lock their car doors after a spike in unlawful entry into unlocked motor vehicles last month.
On Tuesday, the Nutley Police Department announced that the latest incidents occurred during the early morning hours on Rutgers, Wharton, Kingsland, North and River Road.
According to police, the incidents involve suspects who try door handles in search for unlocked vehicles that have valuables inside.

In addition, Nutley police are advising local landscapers that officers are investigating several thefts involving open, unattended landscape trailers. During these incidents, valuable equipment was stolen when workers were distracted or left tools unsupervised, authorities said.

“Police urge anyone that may see suspicious activity such as vehicles driving slowly, or making numerous passes, parked or occupied vehicles, and suspicious individuals on neighboring properties to notify police at 973-284-4940 or dial 911 for emergent matters.
