Nutley Police: Someone ‘Pried Open' And Damaged Crossing Signal

Someone ripped the fuses and wires out of a pedestrian crossing signal on Walnut Street in Nutley, police said.

NUTLEY, NJ — Someone pried open a flashing pedestrian crossing signal in Nutley and ripped out the internal fuses and wires last week, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, patrol units responded to a report of criminal mischief on Walnut Street on Nov. 5. When the officers arrived on the scene, they found that someone tampered with a flashing pedestrian crossing signal in the area, damaging the controls.

“The control box was pried open and internal fuses and wires were removed,” police stated in a release.
