Nutley Resident Gets Phone Call: ‘There’s A Bomb In Your House’
A Nutley resident's startling phone call prompted a police-led evacuation of a local apartment complex, authorities said.

NUTLEY, NJ — “There’s a bomb in your house.” That’s the startling call that a Nutley resident allegedly received last week, prompting a police-led evacuation of a local apartment complex.
According to the Nutley Police Department, multiple officers responded to a Passaic Avenue residential complex on June 5 after receiving a report about a possible bomb threat. After arriving on the scene, officers immediately set up a perimeter and began to evacuate the premises.
Nutley officers then spoke to a resident at the complex, who told them that they got a phone call from a man who said: “There's a bomb in your house.”

The Nutley Detective Bureau and detectives and a K-9 from the Essex County Sheriff's Bomb Squad arrived on the scene and took control of the investigation. The officers tracked the apartment, several packages in the area and all of the common areas of the complex but didn’t find any hazards, authorities said.
After an additional detective from the Essex County Bomb Disposal Unit responded and conducted a further evaluation with negative results, authorities allowed all residents to return to their homes, police said.
