Nutley Resident Gets 'Suspicous' Visit From Alleged Meat Salesman
Nutley police said a man allegedly attempted to gain entry to a home after identifying himself as an employee of "meats.com."
Nutley, NJ - A Nutley resident received a suspicious Christmas Eve house call from an alleged meat salesman, according to police.
The Nutley Police Department stated that the “suspicious incident” took place on Hampton Place, when a man holding a price list allegedly attempted to gain entry to a home after identifying himself as an employee of “meats.com.”
The resident denied the man entry into the home and he left without incident, police stated.

The resident told police that the man was wearing blue pants and a white shirt.
On Thursday, the web domain www.meats.com produced an inactive link.

In October, Nutley police warned residents about the prevalence of “diversionary burglaries,” a type of burglary where the actor “diverts the attention of the resident and tries to bring the homeowner to another part of the house, such as the basement, allowing an accomplice to enter and ransack the bedroom for valuables.”
