Nutley Resident Loses Wallet In Atlantic City, Phony Charges Follow

The resident incurred more than $13,000 in phony charges before detectives were able to identify the culprit, authorities said.

NUTLEY, NJ — A Nutley resident who lost their wallet in Atlantic City incurred more than $13,000 in phony charges before police were able to identify the culprit – another Essex County resident, authorities said Friday.

According to the Nutley Police Department, detectives are accusing Marian Sangosse of Newark of fraud. Here’s why, authorities said:

“Detectives investigating a report that a Nutley victim inadvertently lost their wallet in an Atlantic City hotel room and immediately began incurring charges. After over $13,000 in charges were compiled, detectives identified Sangosse as the person purchasing items at Best Buy and Apple. Charges have been drafted pending a court hearing.”
