The Nutley Board of Education approved the 2018-19 budget during a public meeting that only drew a small handful of attendees.

NUTLEY, NJ — The Nutley Board of Education has passed a $69.9 million budget for 2018-19 that will raise the school portion of local residents’ taxes, administrators said.
The board approved the 2018-19 budget during its May 7 meeting, which was only attended by two members of the public and a handful of school officials and employees, TAP Into Nutley reported. (Watch a video from the meeting below)
According to the district’s budget presentation, there will be an increase of $87 to the average assessed home of $318,300 as a result of the general fund tax levy. However, the debt service tax levy on the average assessed property will decrease by $11, which equals a net increase of $75 for the average Nutley homeowner.
