Nutley School Board Ponders ‘True Secure Entrance’ At Yantacaw

NUTLEY, NJ — Steps are being taken to work a “true secure entrance” at Yantacaw Elementary School in Nutley into the 2020-2021 district budget, officials said during Tuesday’s board of education meeting.
Daniel Carnicella said the board is working to integrate the entrance at Yantacaw into the list of capital projects for the upcoming budget year.
“Our goal is that we’ll be able to create a true secure entrance consistent with our other four elementary schools,” Carnicella said.

The Jan. 28 board meeting also included presentations from school administrators about other ongoing security and safety initiatives in the Nutley Public School District, including at Yantacaw. Watch a video of the meeting.
