Nutley Sees 2 Attempted Burglaries On Same Day: Police
Each incident involved five suspects dressed in masks and hooded sweatshirts, Nutley police said.
NUTLEY, NJ — Two attempted burglaries were recently reported on the same day in Nutley. Each incident involved five suspects, authorities say.
The Nutley Police Department released the following details about the incidents, which took place on June 16:
Kenzel Avenue – “Officers responded to Kenzel Avenue on a report of an attempted residential burglary. The resident stated when their burglar alarm went off, they looked out the window and observed five individuals running from their front porch into a vehicle idling on the street in front of their residence. Officers observed pry marks to a first-floor window near the front porch with the screen torn out. The suspects appeared to be wearing ski masks and gloves, with three of them wearing black hooded sweatshirts with their hood up, and two of the suspects were wearing gray hooded sweatshirts with their hood up. The area was canvassed and the detective bureau was notified of the incident.”

Ohlson Avenue – “Officers responded to Ohlson Avenue on a report of multiple parties in the backyard. The resident stated that five individuals exited what appeared to be a smaller black SUV parked in the street and walk down their driveway on the side of the house, proceeding down the walkway. Three of the suspects appeared to have grey hooded sweatshirts, black sweatpants, black face mask and gloves and black shoes, [and] the other two had black hooded sweatshirts, black sweatpants, black face mask and gloves and black shoes. The five individuals walk onto the back deck where they look through the sliding glass door and back door. The suspects did not gain access to the residence. The area was canvassed and the detective bureau was notified of the incident.”
