Nutley St. Patrick's Day Parade: See Route Info, Dignitary List

One of the town's "favorite annual events" will return on March 1. Here's where and when the 2025 parade will kick off.

NUTLEY, NJ — A popular St. Patrick's Day Parade will return to Nutley for 2025 this weekend.

The Township of Nutley and the Nutley Irish American Association (NIAA) will hold the annual parade on Saturday, March 1.

According to organizers, the day will begin with a special Investiture Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Nutley at 10 a.m. The parade will start at 1 p.m. at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Evergreen Street. The route will proceed north along Franklin Avenue and will conclude on Chestnut Street at the review stand located in front of John Walker Middle School.

The dignitaries for this year’s parade include John Kaufman (owner, Core Physical Therapy) as Grand Marshal, Kevin Smyth (lifelong resident, Washington School teacher and Nutley High School Rowing coach) as Deputy Grand Marshal, Mary T. Darragh (MTD Transport) as Member of the Year, Rachel May Hamilton (lifelong resident and Nutley High School graduate) as Parade Queen, and Police Patrolman Brendan Sim as Police Officer of the Year.

Mayor John Kelly III said the parade – along with the pub crawl honoring the parade sponsors – are “Nutley traditions like no other.”

“The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of our township’s favorite events,” Commissioner Mauro Tucci agreed.

“I want to thank the NIAA not only for the parade and for all the great events they put on for us, but for what they do for the community,” Tucci continued. “The parade is just one element of what happens on behalf of the NIAA. What they do is the glue that keeps communities like ours together; the St. Patrick’s Day parade is a celebration of that and so much more.”
