Nutley Substitute Teacher Accused Of ‘Inappropriate Behavior’
A substitute teacher has been arrested and accused of engaging in "inappropriate behavior" while teaching class at Nutley High School.
NUTLEY, NJ — A substitute teacher has been arrested and accused of engaging in “inappropriate behavior” while teaching class at Nutley High School last week, police announced Tuesday.
According to the Nutley Police Department, Richard Dunn, 58, of Nutley, has been under investigation over the past week for “allegations of inappropriate behavior” while teaching class on March 11.
More specific details about the nature of the allegations weren’t immediately available.

Dunn was charged with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, and one count of lewdness in connection with the March 11 incident, authorities said.
Dunn was also charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a minor in connection with an incident that took place on Feb. 1 while he was substituting in another class, police said.

Police arrested Dunn on Tuesday without incident. He was transported to Nutley police headquarters for processing and detained at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, authorities said.
“When police are called upon to investigate allegations as serious as the ones reported last week, we prioritize our efforts to ensure no one is at risk,” Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco said, thanking local detectives, school administrators and county prosecutors for collaborating on the investigation.
