Nutley police say that someone dug up and stole a red maple tree from a Corsay Road property.

NUTLEY, NJ — A tree thief recently stole a red maple after digging it up from a Corsay Road home and dragging it off, leaving a trail of dirt in their wake, Nutley police say.

According to the Nutley Police Department, a resident called headquarters on April 29 to report a past incident involving theft and criminal mischief. On arrival at the scene, officers found that a thief apparently ripped a red maple tree out of the resident’s front yard.

The suspect then took off with the tree, which is valued at about $200, police said.
