Nutley Vehicle ‘Engulfed In Flames,’ Occupants Escape: PD

When Nutley fire and police crews arrived on the scene, they found the vehicle "fully engulfed in flames," authorities said.

NUTLEY, NJ — The occupants of a car were able to escape without injury just before their vehicle was engulfed in flames last week, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the incident took place on Route 21 on Jan. 5. When fire and police crews arrived on the scene, they found a vehicle “fully engulfed in flames,” authorities said.

The driver of the car told officers that they heard a strange noise coming from the engine and pulled over to the shoulder of the road. That’s when they saw smoke and got out of the car, police said.
