NUTLEY, NJ — Yoga strengthens minds, bodies and the community. That’s the philosophy of Good Vibes Vinyasa Yoga & Kombucha Bar, which recently opened its doors in Nutley.
Owner and Nutley resident Michael Giaimo said that he wanted to create a place where people can socialize and support each other in health and well-being. (Learn more about this local business here)
“Yoga has rejuvenated my faith, put me in the best physical and mental shape of my life, and been a strong motivator,” Giaimo said.

The studio, located at 237 Franklin Avenue, focuses primarily on Vinyasa Yoga, but offers a variety of classes for all goals and levels: Hot Vinyasa Yoga; Non-Hot Vinyasa Yoga; Beginner Yoga; Restorative Yoga (good for beginners, those with injuries or the elderly); Yoga for Kids (coming soon); Yin Yang Yoga (for joints and ligaments); and Kundalini, an Eastern spiritual mind and body practice.

The Nutley yoga studio also has a tasty amenity for its clients: a kombucha bar that serves the fermented, probiotic-rich tea on tap.
Giaimo said that he plans to be a good neighbor to the community, and that Good Vibes seeks to give back to the local and global community through time and contributions to charities and causes and by hosting in-studio events.
“We want to promote programs that address the health of the environment, global poverty and hunger,” Giaimo said. “We also want to support foundations benefiting local causes.”
The studio will hold a grand opening event on Saturday, Sept. 22. The event will include a yoga festival, full day of complimentary yoga classes, live music, Kombucha samples and refreshments and an opportunity to greet artists and Good Vibes instructors.
Pre-registration for free classes is encouraged, as space is limited, and can be made by visiting www.goodvibesyogabar.com. Following the yoga festival, Good Vibes will host a benefit concert for the Nutley Family Service Bureau Food Pantry with the indie rock band, Above the Moon, beginning at 5 p.m. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of fresh and perishable goods for the pantry.
