Officials To Discuss Fate Of Kingsland Avenue Bridge In Nutley, Lyndhurst
Local and county officials in Nutley and Lyndhurst will hold two upcoming public meetings about the ailing bridge on Oct. 17.

NUTLEY, NJ — Local and county officials in Nutley and Lyndhurst will hold two upcoming public meetings on Monday, Oct. 17, to discuss the condition of the Kingsland Avenue (De Jessa Memorial) Bridge and to solicit public input and comment about the project.

The 364-foot-long bridge – which spans the Passaic River between the Township of Lyndhurst and the Township of Nutley - will need about $7.3 million in remedial repairs during the next 10 years to keep it in service, NorthJersey.com reported.

A 2014 re-evaluation report classified the bridge "in poor overall condition and is structurally deficient,” NorthJersey.com stated.
The public meetings will take place on Monday, Oct. 17 at the following locations:

- Lyndhurst Senior Citizen Center – 2 to 4 p.m. (with a presentation at 2:30 p.m.), 250 Cleveland Avenue, Lyndhurst
- Nutley Town Hall, Council Chambers – 6 to 8 p.m. (with a presentation at 6:30 p.m.), 1 Kennedy Drive, Nutley
