Online Deal Goes Sour In Nutley, Buyer Tries To Steal Wheels: PD
A dispute over the price of car parts in Nutley ended with the potential buyer smashing a window and trying to steal the goods, police said.
NUTLEY, NJ — A dispute over the price of car parts in Nutley ended with the potential buyer smashing a window and trying to steal the goods, authorities said.
According to the Nutley Police Department, a local resident that was trying to sell auto wheels on the website OfferUp.com agreed to meet a buyer in municipal lot 1 on Dec. 19.
However, when they couldn’t agree on a price, the buyer followed the seller to a parking lot on Franklin Avenue, then smashed his car window in an attempt to steal the wheels, police said.

Nutley detectives were able to identify the suspect’s vehicle and in the process of charging him, police stated in an initial release.
